A "dream" sea race to one of the most remote outposts of the UK has been launched Comann na Mara. The Scottish Sailing Institute is lending a helping hand to run the race around the small Island of St Kilda located 40 miles west of North Uist.
The St Kilda Challenge will see the first-ever yacht race from North Uist to St Kilda and back again, covering about 100 nautical miles.
The Race to one of Scotland's remotest islands is scheduled to take place in June 2016. The three day event will see yachts race to the cay from Lochmaddy on the Isle of North Uist with a Sail Procession before the race itself.
