SHIRLEY ROBERTSON AND EMMA RICHARDS SELECTED AS POSITIVE ROLE MODELS AND GIVE ONLINE INTERVIEWS TO HELP INSPIRE GIRLS.
Some of (115 in total) the most inspirational and talented women from Scotland have given online interviews to help inspire Scottish girls and women.
Others include authors (e.g. JK Rowling), singers (e.g. Lulu), TV Presenters (e.g. Lorraine Kelly), Olympic champions (e.g. Rhona Martin), musicians (e.g. Nicola Benedetti) and DJ’s (e.g. Edith Bowman).
Emma Richards MBE – round the world yachtswoman:
“I got involved with the Guiding project because I think role models for girls are tremendously important. Keeping girls busy and letting them experience new things is so valuable. I was a Brownie, and then a Guide, then a Senior Section Ranger and that Guiding ethos of always trying your best fed into my sailing. It sets you up from a young age to know that you can achieve things and make a difference."
